3rd of June 2013. C said his first word. "Dadda". My heart (and his daddy's) almost burst with pride. He's been trying so hard for a few weeks but could only say "gaga". He couldn't get the "D" sound. Until today.
He said it once and I looked at Chris. "Did he say 'dadda'?" "I think he did" was the reply. We then started repeating it to him and, as clear as day, he said it again. And again. And again. Now he won't stop saying it.
It's so strange looking at my baby boy and seeing how far he's come.

I can't believe that he's now said his first word. I can't believe that he knows to put one foot in front of the other to walk in his walker. I can't believe that he knows how to put food into his mouth by himself. I can't believe that when I sit him on the bottom stair that he puts his feet on the ground and stands up (wobbly, but he still does it).
It's sad that my little baby boy is growing up but it's amazing too. I can't wait to see what he does next.
They grow far too fast don't they. As much as I love to see every new thing my little lady does I can't help but feel sad the baby days are disappearing so quickly. Cherish every moment you never get them back but much more is still to come xx
ReplyDeleteSo cuuute! Those first really do make your fill up with pride! Go C, well done! Next he'll be saying "Mama" ;) x
ReplyDeleteMummy of Two, I'm very sad that he's not a little baby anymore. I definitely will cherish it. These past 8 months have gone in way too quickly xx
ReplyDeleteDeborah, I can't wait until he's saying 'mama'. I'll probably cry! x
What a clever little boy :-) So nice when the first words get spoken you can see the revelation in their faces can't you :-)
ReplyDeleteDefinitely, James. Love it :)
ReplyDeleteI love babies but toddlers are more interesting x love first words
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for the toddler stage, Louise x
ReplyDeleteAwww that is lovely! Baby stage is my favourite and I really struggled when my youngest started doing all of these 'grown up' things. They grow up so quickly! x
ReplyDeleteThey change soo quickly at that age and it's lovely to see them grow and learn. I remember trying to get my son to talk and regretting it so much when he just wouldn't be quiet for even a minute :-D
ReplyDeleteIt really is a bitter sweet thing when your baby gets bigger and learns new things but you want him to stay your baby. Thank you for linking to Magic Moments xx
